Canadian National Articulated Covered Hopper
The prototype grain covered hopper was built by CN's Winnipeg shops as a way to increase loading per car on the railroad's line to Churchill on Hudson Bay. The car was kitbashed from two Walthers ACF 54' Centerflow 3-bay hoppers. The end slope angles were made more shallow, new inside bulkheads and center truck bolster fabricated and air lines and hoses between sections attached. Bottom side and end sill cast-on plastic grab irons replaced with wire ones. Brake gear piping and coupler cut bars added. Has Kadee couplers. Custom painted and letered with Microscale decals. Based on prototype photos. Dimensions: 9" L x 1-3/8" W x 2" H, weight: 9 oz. Only one model available.
