Maersk EMD GP-60M Locomotive #146
The model is actually based on a Santa Fe prototype that was painted in Maersk (Danish container shipping giant) colors for a marketing campaign. The model is built from an Athearn GP-60 and a Rail Power GP-60M cab. Added details are brass Q-Fans, dynamic brake fan housing, horn, lift rings, grab irons, headlights, ditch lights, anticlimbers, coupler cut bars, snowplow (with grab irons), MU hoses, MU cable connectors and cables, handrails (Smokey Valley brass stanchions soldered to brass wire), sand filler lids, radio antenna, sunshades on cab, windshield wipers, MV headlight and ditchlight lenses, air tanks and pipes, air filter, fuel gauges, fuel filler, sand hoses on trucks and constant voltage lighting unit which powers front headlight. Frame and trucks are Athearn, but powered by a Canon can motor with flywheels.
Painted in Santa Fe's "Warbonnet", scheme with blue instead of red. Front handrails, side handrail ends, grab irons on snowplow, step edges and coupler cut bars painted white. Exhaust stack, MU hoses, window grommets, interior of radiator, air intake and dynamic brake grilles painted black. MU cables painted yellow. Side window frames and MU hose ends painted silver. Couplers painted rust. Lettered with Microscale decals. Dimensions: 8" L x 1-3/8" W x 2-1/8" H, weight: 14 oz. Only one model available.
